Butler Hall parking lot construction to cause temporary closure over summer
Construction to improve the parking lot adjacent to Butler Hall will cause temporary closures of the lot beginning Monday [April 8] and lasting through August 6.
The ÇàÇà²ÝÊÓƵ Office of Planning, Design and Construction Administration is administering a project to replace a retaining wall, curbs and sidewalks in the area. The parking lot also will be milled, overlaid and striped.
Beginning Monday [April 8], construction fencing will be installed, closing the eastern portion of the lot along George Perry Road. Due to the closure, the resident parking spaces in the south portion of the lot will be temporarily rezoned to staff parking from April 8 – May 8. Beginning May 8, the entire lot will be closed for the duration of the summer. After May 8, those with staff parking permits will be allowed to park in the residential parking lots located north of the Chapel of Memories and Hull Hall. Once the project is complete on August 6, all parking in the area will revert to current zoning.
