STARKVILLE, Miss.—Trash is “in” at Ƶ’s eighth annual Trashion Show.
Free and open to the public, the event takes place Wednesday [Nov. 9] at 7 p.m. in Giles Hall.
The National Organization of Minority Architecture Students (NOMAS), in collaboration with Ƶ fashion design and merchandising students, will work to design custom outfits made of recycled goods and modeled by Ƶ’s Fashion Board.
The event’s theme, “Diametric Parallels,” encourages designers to discover something common between two seemingly opposite materials.
Past creations have been assembled from bottle caps, straws, soda cans, newspaper, playing cards and more.
“It’s a creative look at design elements with the incorporation of unconventional materials that promote sustainability,” said Diondria Bingham, senior architecture major from Pearl who is serving as NOMAS president.
